Governor Quinn signed Senate Bill 1132 into
law on Wednesday. The legislation
has an immediate effective date and
is P.A. 95-1035. It appropriates:
• $35 million to the Department of Commerce and Economic
Opportunity (DCEO) for the purposes of a seed study on the
Tenaska Energy Center;
• 3.125 million to the DCEO for grants associated
with theEmployment Opportunities Grant Program;
• $696,000 for Job Training and
Economic Development Grant Program;
• $11.3 million was appropriated to the Secretary of State
• $6.75 million to the Attorney General; and
• Approximately $1.8 million to the State Treasurer for ordinary and
contingent expenses.
